Alexander Mijares is one of South Florida’s most celebrated contemporary artists — a self-taught painter and sculptor whose bold, vibrant works have captivated collectors, interior designers, and cultural institutions across the globe.
Born and raised in Miami to Cuban and Spanish parents, Mijares channels the color, rhythm, and Latin soul of his city into original paintings and sculptures that are instantly recognizable. His signature stained-glass style — rich in movement, cultural depth, and vivid color — translates beautifully in residential interiors, luxury condos, commercial spaces, and private collections throughout Miami, Brickell, Coral Gables, Coconut Grove, and Wynwood.

Mijares has received the Key to the City of Miami, exhibited at the Pérez Art Museum, and headlined Art Basel Miami Beach and Art Wynwood. His work has been shown in New York’s Times Square, the Hamptons, and Los Angeles.
He has created custom original works for Justin Bieber, Pitbull, Maluma, J Balvin, Luis Fonsi, Pharrell, Emilio Estefan, Alejandro Sanz, and Camilo, among many others.

Miami’s Skyline
Mijares’ large-scale works have become landmarks across South Florida. He painted a 5,000 sq ft mural for the unveiling of Inter Miami CF in collaboration with David Beckham, created installations for the Delano South Beach Hotel, and unveiled his “Sail Away” large-format installation for Ocean Drive magazine.
His signature Menina figures now stand in South Miami’s SoMi District. He painted the iHeart Radio Station Studios and created a mural for Nicklaus Children’s Hospital designed to bring strength and joy to young patients.

Force for Good
Mijares is recognized as Live Like Bella’s Artist Forever and Blue Mission’s Agent of Change, with a long-standing partnership with Miami’s Overtown Youth Center. His charitable work has reached Haiti, the Dominican Republic, and Cuba.
He was the youngest artist in over 50 years named cover and poster artist for the Coconut Grove Arts Festival, and the first to design the official medal ribbons for the Miami Marathon — a race he also ran.
